Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
The law is changing later this year with the repeal of the Fire Precautions Act Workplace Regulations 1997 (As amended) and the introduction of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
The Order puts responsibility firmly in the hands of the employer and requires all commercial tenants and landlords to carry out a suitable and sufficient written Fire Risk Assessment of their demise.
The Order specifically requires risk assessors to be competent and have the appropriate skills and experience.
If you have not carried out a Fire Risk Assessment, you
MUST do so as a matter of urgency.
